Stacy Whitehead Ashley, and her young son, Mason volunteer with the North Carolina Branch of Give2TheTroops®. Stacy began volunteering in 2005 with her mom, Barbara Whitehead, and her other son Hunte,r by making cards from Hunter's artwork. By volunteering, Stacy felt she could honor her brother Jason Whitehead's service in the 82nd Airborne, US Army, and stay supportive of him.
Stacy enjoys packing boxes, and with Mason in tote, he has a bird's eye view of all that is being sent to our troops in their packages. His big brother Hunter enjoys choosing items for the packages, and has made many new friends at the NC Branch.
Stacy is married to Capt Jim Ashley, a charter boat captain, and even when living in Hawaii, Cape Cod, or Montauk, New York,, Stacy and Hunter made cards for the troops and found items of local interest to send in packages. The troops were very fortunate to receive coffee from Stacy while she lived in Kawai, Hawaii, and the troops who were deployed from Schofield Barracks in Hawaii, often received Hawaiian magazines, coffee, macadamia nuts, and other touches of home, that Stacy mailed to the NC Branch to include in our packages.
