Judy Swanson is a proud Army mother. She lives in East Granby, Connecticut, with her husband John, who also volunteers with Give2TheTroops®. Judy is a retired paralegal and former singer/songwriter/guitar player. She is a professional artist and also writes poetry and children’s stories. She received a Certificate in Art from Capital Community-Technical College, studied oil painting and monotype techniques at the University of Hartford Art School, and has studied with several nationally recognized artists. She has won many awards and has been accepted in many juried shows throughout the State of Connecticut and in the Monotype Guild of New England exhibit which will travel worldwide. She is represented by a gallery in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Her paintings are in 42 private collections in the United States and abroad. She has been writing music lyrics all her life and performed professionally for more than 15 years throughout Connecticut and other New England states. She has been attending the InnerVisions poetry workshop in Windsor, Connecticut since the fall of 2006 and has been published in the Poet’s Cove section of the Monhegan Island Commons web site, and by the Poet’s Ink website in 2008.
