Barb Lambert comes to us via a very winding and circuitous path.  She was a flight attendant for Delta Airlines and until 2003, she enjoyed her quiet life…two children, a husband, and a career she loved.  In 2003, the United States government activated CRAF (Civil Reserve Air Fleet), in response to Operation Iraqi Freedom.  The government basically charters commercial airlines to help deploy massive amounts of soldiers.  Delta Airlines was one of the airlines chosen and Barb volunteered to be a flight attendant for those flights.  It was the highlight of her 31 years with Delta.

After a few months, Delta was no longer needed for troop movement and Barb went back to the regular scheduled flights.  In 2005 after her youngest child graduated from high school, Barb retired from Delta to go to work for World Airways.  World is one of the charter airlines that transports the troops around the world.  She is still a flight attendant, only now she serves those who so selflessly and so bravely serve us, and she gets to do it full time!  She loves her job and loves her passengers.

Last year Barb handed out paper bags to all of her neighbors and asked them to fill the bags with goodies to send to the troops with the intention of mailing the items herself.  With her living room overflowing with bags, Barb quickly realized she would need help!  With a little internet research, she found Give2TheTroops® and hasn’t left since.

Barb believes very strongly in supporting our men and women.  She sees on a daily basis their faces and hears their stories…and she knows what a big difference a child’s drawing, a package, and a “thank you” can make.
