2005 letters

Dated 27 December, 2005
Iraq

Hello from Iraq!

I received your package and cards in the mail today and would like to thank you for what you have done. As you probably know, being away from home for the holiday season is not easy. Receiving mail is probably the biggest morale booster while deployed.

It's comforting to know there are people like yourselves back home supporting the troops.

Again, thanks for all that you do.

Respectfully,

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Thank you for the second care package of gifts! They were great! I love the Rolling Stones magazine. This place is not too bad - I'm getting used to it. I've been here for two months and I work in the motor pool with some very cool guys. I am originally from Michigan but live in Washington State now.

Everyone I shared your package with loves the candy and snacks. Thank you for sending beef jerky. It is worth more than money around here.

Dear Give2TheTroops, Inc,

It is with much gratitude that I write you today. My sincere hope is this letter finds each of you doing well. I hope the holiday season has been a very enjoyable time with family and friends. Through this letter, I wish to express my deepest appreciation and warmest regards to every person who was involved with this project.

As I sent my information via email, I knew your organization would be more then willing to help. As I anxiously awaited the arrival of the donated items, I wasn't prepared for the overwhelming response. A clear sign of your support for each of us. Such support is greatly valued by each and every military member.

As the items came in, I then looked forward to playing Santa Claus for the troops.
I was more then happy to share these gifts with the men and women I am currently serving with. As the came to select their items, the look of happiness was evident. That look quickly transformed into amazement as I stated these items were sent by complete strangers. Our morale was immediately lifted and your act of kindness helped each of us through the holidays away from home.

Thank each and every one of you for your support. Regardless of one's personal view of our country's affairs, you all came to the aid of the men and women who serve. By your hand, our time away from home has been made easier.

Our sincerest thoughts, prayers, and appreciation to all.

Very respectfully,

Happy Holidays to Give2TheTroops!

I don't know how to say how much I want to thank you for the package. It contained more then enough items for me and my men. The package really came at a time of great need. You guys are doing a great job of supporting us.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Greeting from Iraq!

We just received a box that your Connecticut Branch sent to SPC Adam Shinaberry and I wanted to send you a thank you note. You can actually see a picture of SPC Shinnaberry in the enclosed letter I am sending you with photos. We really appreciate all of your hard work and want you to know how much it all means to us. We are part of the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, KY. A part of my job is to pick up the mail from our Army Post Office and distribute it. This is my second tour in Iraq and instead of tents, my unit lives in trailers.

I am also sending you a photo of one of our walls covered with the cards you included in the care package. We have them all hanging in our office. Please pass on our thanks to those involved and all who assisted. It really means a lot to have your support.

Thanks again.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

I wanted you to know that we got your package today. The guys loved the popcorn and microwave! I also got a chance to look at your website and see all the photos. I showed them to the guys in my tent. I will make sure everybody has access to the microwave and popcorn you sent. I told them that once the coffee pot gets here it is going in our tent, but all of the other tents will be more than welcome to come and use it courtesy of Give2thetroops.

By the way, my dog, Kisma, and the other dogs are enjoying their gifts too. Here is a little info about Kisma: He is a seven year old Belgian Malanois and has been a military working dog for about five years. He is a very friendly dog, but if he has to attack, he can turn it on!

He doesn't have a tail, but when I told him about the dog bed you're sending us, he started to wag his little nub where his tail used to be :) Right now he is sleeping on the wood floor and gets sores. I have attached a picture of Kisma and me.

The dogs here weigh between 60 and 85 pounds. As you can see, Kisma is one of the bigger dogs. I hope you are all doing well. I think I will go pop me some popcorn now!

Thank you again for everything!

Dear Give2TheTroops,

It has been a long year, but all of a sudden, it is over. I am sending you a disk with some pictures from the past 6 months. (Note the medical tape used to tape the disk to the card). I made these in a hurry as I am running out of time here.

Over the past year, we have treated over 4000 patients in our clinic, ran over 1000 ambulance missions, and evacuated over 150 injured casualties. Not a single patient died of wounds under our care. Only two medics were injured and they were minor injuries. We trained hundreds of Iraqi Soldier and Police in first aid and combat lifesaving techniques. My platoon had proudly done its part to help, influence and with the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people.

Thank you for all your support.

Merry Christmas and thanks again for everything.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Your thoughtful gifts from your NC and WA branches eached the soldiers of the 172d Brigade Support Battalion. It was a treat for the soldiers to open the box together and distribute the snacks and goodies throughout our company.

It was the simple things that brought the most joy. One soldier was excited to munch down on animal crackers. The ladies in the administration office were happy to have Christmas music to listen to.

One soldier was overjoyed to have a DVD that follows a book he has been reading and he looks forward to sharing it with his Bible study group. The ornaments made a nice addition to our staff Christmas tree. Our tree is filling up with homemade ornaments from around the states.

I myself read the cards aloud to the office and have hung them up throughout our work areas to brighten our days.

We ask that you thank everyone who made a contribution to the box. Please tell them that every item was much appreciated.

Thanks again from the soldiers of the 172d BSB from Fairbanks, Alaska.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Thank you so much for the care package! My platoon and I enjoyed everything in it. The box was torn apart and everything was gone within seconds. Well, you know how Marines can be! They all send their thanks as well. We've been on a ship for a while and will be in Iraq by the time you receive this letter.

Please let all the families who wrote us know that the Marines are READING their letters and we are really enjoying them!

It's good to know there are people out there who care enough to take time out in their day to write to us, even though we might get a little flustered when they write, "Dear Soldier" or "Dear Airman" and never "Dear Marine!" (Just kidding! The guys here joke about that a little.)

Our unit has been making do with very little. The items you sent in our care package were perfect. We could not ask for anything more. However, those letters you sent us were the best. Most of the people in my unit are also from the Northeast of the United States which is really weird, because we were all together at Camp LeJeune.

I know you can't post some of the things I am writing here, but maybe you can at least let some of the people who wrote to us know that my MOS is an Assualtman, that I belong to ½ Alpha Company, and that this is my first tour.

Thank you, Give2TheTroops, for EVERYTHING. I hope you get this letter!

Happy Holidays!

Dear Give 2 The Troops,

Thank You so much for the Holiday care package from the North Carolina Branch which arrived today. It arrived quickly and was perfect timing because we have been doing some missions. The guys are gonna LOVE everything in it. I'm going to put the items in some of the stockings you sent for the holiday. Then they can share them with the others.

It is such a WONDERFUL THING FOR YOU TO DO. You don't know how much it means. We welcome anything you send. I am from Pennsylvania. I have 2 teenage children and a wonderful wife who is very busy at home taking care of things and keeping everything there together. I don't have any other family to help her out, so its people like you that do what you do also help our families.

Many thanks also for the XBOX system and games from your Connecticut Branch!

Again THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO AND FOR THE PRAYERS!

Dear Give2theTroops,

On behalf of the Area Support Group-Qatar Command Group, we pass on a sincere "thank you" for your donation of food and toiletries toward our Theater rest and recuperation Pass Program. Our soldiers arrive with very little clothing or toiletry items. One of our VIP visitors, Mr. Wade Ishimoto, brought your organization to our attention.

The contributions sent by your North Carolina Branch will be used in our snack room and toiletry closet for service members during their R & R pass. As you know, ASG-QA manages the entire OIF and OEF 4 day R & R pass Program.

These are service members from the following locations: Iraq, Afghanistan, Horn of Africa, and Kuwait who will benefit from your contribution.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

I apologize for the delay in this letter - as it was lost in the mail and returned to me.

Thank you for all the support you have given to my platoon. If it weren't for people like you that listen to their hearts, then there would be many unhappy people over here. Keep up the great work and continue to expand your organization. God has plans for you beyond your comprehension.

So many people here have been touched by those who actually care about us and what we do. I am afraid for the next generation because they don't know what they have. This freedom is more precious than the finest diamonds and every American holds it in his or her hand.

I was very happy to receive all the gifts you sent.

I have handed out candy to the children here. Some of those kids have never even tasted the sweet taste of candy. That breaks my heart.

Feel free to send toys and I'll take photos of the children with them. I will try to write back as many people as possible. I am 21 years old and have been in the service for 3 years. I plan to go into SF soon and will write you continuously.

Thank you all again so much!

Dear Give2theTroops,

I would like to say thank you for your generous act of kindness. I received your care package and have now just gotten a chance to write you a thank you letter. I was delighted to receive the goodies that you sent, and I shared them with the soldiers in my company. When we receive a care package from home, it's such a morale booster for the soldiers. The smiles it puts on the soldiers' faces would probably amaze some people.

Our unit is from Ft Stewart, Georgia. We're a medical company that provides care to sick and injured. We have a variety of different specialties within our small group, from medical specialists to lab techs, to x-ray techs, to dental techs to medical maintenance techs to medical supply specialists.

Dear Give 2 The Troops,

I just wanted to drop a note and say thank you for all your thoughts for all the soldiers and Marines here in our unit. I'm the soldier who asked for the Angelina Jolie films and hand sanitizer.
As I think about heading home to my family, I just want to encourage you to keep doing your good work. In my civilian job I am a High School teacher.

All of the support you give is a big part of seeing us through this. It is tough to be away from families and friends. The thing is we know our families are behind us, but the key to success is when we see others supporting us in acts of kindness. A letter, a note. they all make a difference. Knowing we still have strong support makes this a little easier!

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS

We would like to thank you for your kindness in sending us care packages, they are well
received by members of the platoon, and are put to good use. We thank you for your patriotism and you have a special place in our prayers.

We have now been in theater for three months and in some ways, the time has flown by. We perform a number of different types of missions and spend most days providing convey escorts for various units within the Brigade Task Force, keeping them safe from enemy activity.

We are also making friends in the local population. Whenever the Iraqi children see us driving by, they run to the side of the road and wave, or give us the peace symbol, or a "thumbs up". It is a good feeling to be appreciated if we are serving as role-models to the children.

Again, thank you for your support and God Bless you all.

Thank you so much for what you have already sent! The guys are getting ready to go into the rainy season and anything that you can send us such as items we can do inside a tent for an activity would be a good idea. Items such as cards, board games, darts ... etc. They could also use any DVD movies, which can be copies, oldies and anything else. The movie doesn't necessarily have to be new. Also, cards for the holidays to send home to their families.

My unit is lives in a metal building while others live in tents and vehicles.

I am working on something to send all the people who are supporting us. THANK YOU for everything you are doing!! May God continue to bless you and your team for your efforts!!

Dear GIVE 2 THE TROOPS,

I am very pleased to announce that the first package that you sent to us with the XBOX system, games and DVDs has arrived. The Marines that are here with me right now could not wait to say "Thank You". Here is a picture of the Marines that were here with me when the package arrived. They were so excited that they all wanted to thank you immediately.

There are a lot more Marines in the unit with us but most of them are currently out doing missions. The next opportunity that I get to have most of them together I will take more photos to send to you. They all wanted me to stress to you that you selected some great games and you even thought enough to send us a second controller.

The Marines can't decide which to do first: play the games or watch the movies. They have already planned to have tournaments for practically every game. I haven't seen morale this high since we arrived here. One of the Marines asked if it was Christmas or something, another one wanted your address so that he could write to say thank you. I told them that you are a very special organization.

We all send you guys great big hugs and kisses from us all.

As for my unit, we are all safe and doing just fine. We're half way through our deployment and can't wait to be back to North Carolina. Thank you again for your support and help. Dear GIVE 2 THE TROOPS,

Guess what we got today? A MICROWAVE! It weathered the shipping very Well! And wow, did it arrive in record time - 7 days. It was truly amazing! Thank you!

We got a converter for it and plugged it in, but because it was so close to the voltage limit, it blew the converter. So I need a better converter and we are working on that ASAP. But for the brief period of time that we were able to use it, all was well, it worked fine, and it wasn't damaged by the shipping as far as we could tell.

I have to tell you that your organization is AMAZING. It was a shot in the dark that made me request the microwave, and I NEVER expected you to be able to provide such a huge donation. I know there were shipping costs as well as the original expense for the microwave and for that I am grateful. The personal attention you showed our platoon will not be forgotten.

As soon as it arrived I knew what it was, and I was so excited for my platoon. Not simply because of the obvious, of having the convenience of a microwave within a decent walking distance, but because of what it represented.

It was PROOF from the home front for my soldiers to KNOW that there is such an expansive support system back home, that people do care, that we aren't forgotten. Somehow your care package made it seem like there is real 'care' involved. It did wonders for the morale, needless to say.

Everyone feels like they "scored"; and that we are such a privileged platoon. I cannot express that enough to you. I am still shocked that you made this happen for us! You truly do make miracles happen! To receive a microwave via mail, while deployed in a 3rd world country....I just can't believe it.

I hope this brightens your day. No words can convey how much your generosity has improved the morale around here. Today you managed to make a whole platoon happy and surprised. Pat yourselves on the back and make sure to thank everyone else involved in your organization for us.

YOU MADE MY DAY! THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS,

Thank you from all of us, for the wonderful package that was sent here. We all have been extremely busy due to the events that have transpired as of late. This is the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, and the constitutional elections have also taken place. So, needless to say, everyone has been extremely busy.

Everyone was thrilled and delighted with the care package that was sent by your CT Branch. Most of the candy and food is already gone, and the Slim Jims gave us a boost of salt for our bodies.

The digital camera you sent our unit has actually been out on missions as soldiers are using it to take pictures of the events that occur while they are out.

The X-Box system and games you sent us have been a blast! The system will stay in this building when we leave here. The personal hygiene items were divided and taken as needed. Overall, it was an extremely outstanding care package and we are all very grateful.

Our busy days continue, for a while anyway, but hopefully things will slow down soon.

Hope all is well, and thanks once again.

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS,

Today was a great day! We received not one, but 5 BIG boxes from your Connecticut, North Carolina and Washington Branches! Words cannot justly express the gratitude we have for the gifts you have given to us. This was more than anybody could expect to receive! In a place where morale is found in small pleasures few and far between you have managed to lift an entire unit's morale for the rest of the time we have to spend in this place. We received so much from your organization that we had to spread the items to other units that work around us. They also were very pleased to see so much support from back home.

In my job I get to meet soldiers from all around Iraq. I have told them all about your organization and have handed out your flyers. Like I said before, a lot of troops out here didn't believe me when I told them about your donations and support, but now they have seen it. At times it can often be questioned why we are here or if our own people in the States support or believe in what we do. We need that support or else all we have lost has been for nothing.

The wonderful people, patriots and supporters that make up the Give2TheTroops organization make sure we feel the support and love that may often feel missed.

Thank you for everything you do and have done.

To all of you with love and thanks,

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS

I want to thank you for the multiple goodie boxes we have received from you.

Sometimes it's hard to be here but when people from home, who we don't even know support
us, it really makes a difference. I have passed all the items out over three FOB's where our Soldiers are located and they are so happy every time they see me coming.

I especially want to thank you for the chips, candy, cookies, crackers and toothpaste. Your thoughts and support mean everything to all of us.

You are a blessing.

Dear GIVE 2 THE TROOPS,

The care package from your volunteers and from the employees of the Deloitte & Touche offices in Connecticut made a huge impact on our entire unit! Our unit is the 394th AG CO Postal group.

All the treats were enjoyed by many soldiers here. Thank you for making this program what it is today. Thank you for the time and efforts spent in putting this care package together for us. Troops who are away from home often need to be reminded that people appreciate and care about them. I have a list of soldiers who rarely receive mail and your care package and letters definitely put a spark of life into them. It is a joy to know that my troops' days are brighter now.

Everyone loves receiving a letter - receiving a care packages is even better, especially if you do not have much family or friends.

The kind words and thoughts in the letters you sent were enough to put a smile on our faces. It is always good to receive such positive notes from citizens back at home. Thank you for including them with the wonderful goodies, too!

We appreciate all the time you took to package and send all of us this care package.

Please accept our sincere thanks and thoughts for your time and efforts.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You will be kept in our thoughts.

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS,

I just received three (3) boxes from your Connecticut Branch this past weekend! I want to thank all of you for what you have done for us! We are currently living in buildings with faulty electrical wiring. The majority of these houses are without running water and do not have appliances. All houses are equipped for A/Cs, but most are inoperative. It has begun to cool down a little bit, so it's not really that bad.

We have a very small PX across on the far side of post, but unfortunately, everything is gone by the time we get there. I heard about your organization while watching a segment on television at our dining facility.

The Soldiers here have enjoyed everything you've sent to us. We are a transportation unit, so we are constantly on the move. I am just counting my days down now, because I should be home before Christmas. I am really excited about getting back, because my kids have really grown over the course of the year. We have a lot of catching up to do.

Next month, I will have passed over twenty years in the military, so I am excited about that, too.

I don't know to thank you for all you have done. After following the latest two Hurricanes back in the United States, I realize even being over here how fortunate I am. It's so much I want to try and do, but I am limited in helping because of my current assignment.

You have shown me how important it is to do the small things in the time of crisis. Everyone who is part of your Organization is really wonderful.

I will continue to keep in touch well past the time I return. If there is anything I can do to help you continue supporting the troops, let me know.

Thanks so much again.

Love,
Bobby

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Thank you so very much for thinking of us, and for your show of support. We, the members of the 45th Military History Detachment, appreciate your prayers and support. As military historians, it is our job to ensure the efforts of the men and women serving here are recorded and preserved for their historical value.

We accomplish this by traveling throughout the region conducting interviews and collecting documents, photographs and artifacts from the units we call on. These first-hand accounts and supporting items are essential to the accomplishment of our mission.

While we are so far from home for these extended periods, your letters and packages
are what help us to deal with being separated from our friends and families.

Thank you again for your support and encouragement.

Sincerely,

The 45th Military History Detachment

To the Great Folks at G2TT:

Thanks so much for the generous way in which you've taken care of our medical group staff while we've been over here.

All in all, it has been a good experience. I have worked as the mental health care provider while here and my days have been pretty busy.

Being away from home causes its own form of distress, however, people manage pretty well, which is definitely a good thing because there's only one of me!

A lot of people talk about supporting the troops, but you guys definitely practice what you preach! We will be returning stateside soon, and I will be passing along your information to our replacements.

A heartfelt thanks goes to each of you for the cards, letters, care packages, etc.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

My name is SGT Mary McElroy. I am one of the recipients of a package you sent. I just want to say thank you for the package, for your prayers and for your support. It means a lot to us to know that there are folks at home that are thinking a out us soldiers.

It is my honor to serve, protect our country, our freedom, our way of life. Also to help another country get back on their feet, and help them head in the right direction for a better future. My grandfather and uncles have all retired from the service and I decided at a very young age to be a soldier. It gets lonesome and scary at times, but the military is like a big family, everyone takes care of one another and we make it through.

It helps when we get letters and packages from folks like you, letting us know we get the support of our nation. It feels good and makes us proud to be your Military.

Thanks again for the care package and your support.

God Bless you.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Greetings from Camp Beuhring. Having been in and out of the U. S. Armed Forces several times in my career I originally started out as a Marine in 1977 and now find myself a member of the Vermont Army National Guard. We were activated in November 2004. I am married and we have one son and a daughter-in-law.

On 25 July of this year I was able to welcome my son home from Iraq (he's a Marine) while I myself was home on my mid tour R&R. Of the 6 months that we were both over here together we were unable to meet up. But now, even though I have returned - I feel great knowing that he is back stateside. Because I know both sides of it, what it is like to be here, and what it's like to be a parent of someone here.

Anyway, I wanted to take a minute to thank you on behalf of myself and my unit for the great care package that you sent to us. It is greatly appreciated (especially the head lamp & skittles)

Also I enjoyed the letters from the Young Marines, they really make your day - and rest assured they will be answered as soon as I can get to them.

So, thank you all for your support, take care, and MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Thanks for the care package and for having me and other fellow soldiers in your thoughts. Sometimes I even ask myself why should I commit myself to serve 20 years? Part of the answer to that question is the people I work with and the other part is for people like you, who believe in us and care about us - not necessarily about the war, but just us. The blanket you sent will foster more hope and more reasons.

Please say thanks to the children for the cards - they remind me of my daughter who is 5 years old.

Dear Give 2 The Troops,

Thank you so much for the care package that arrived a couple of days ago. I set all the items out on a bookshelf like a mini BX and had everybody in my unit "go shopping." I could definitely tell the contents had been specifically assembled from the information I submitted on your Troop Sign-Up form.

At this location, we have a higher than usual percentage of females 30% female as opposed to the typical 18-20%. Therefore, it was nice to have the selection of feminine items. There was a great assortment of items and everyone was quite pleasantly surprised.

The picture frame you sent went to a guy whose wife had a baby 5 days ago. No one had seen the dried cherries and dried cranberries in the little boxes before, so those were very popular. So were the Power Bars. The tin of butter cookies was a huge hit and so were the powdered drink mixes.

Thanks so much again for your generosity.

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS,

Thanks so much for the big ole box... we got it yesterday. SGT Grant (John) was saying he should get first "dibs" since he saw Andi's last name on the label and said it came from his "Family"... we all laughed and told him he was nuts.

You really outdid yourself this time... Man there was a lot of great stuff in that box... The Movies, DVD's, CD's, Candy. We received some of the "cup o soups" and the great wood finished "My God Boxes" looks like a jewelry boxes!

Everyone was very happy to see that there was something in for all of us, and we thank you ever so much! You are the greatest!

Your organization has become a household name around here, and the soldiers are always excited (me included) to hear that "G2TT" sent another box.

We are still busy as usual, and it's averaging about 115 degrees F daily here, the worst is yet to come ... since July/August are the hottest months here.

It was great hearing from you guys again and we wish you all the best.

Thanks again for all you are doing for us, and we hope to hear from you soon.

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS,

I wanted to write and thank you and your wonderful group for all of the packages you have been sending to my platoon. I am a Physician Assistant with the medical platoon for 234 Armor Battalion and am still amazed at the packages we receive from home...you guys do a great job at keeping morale up here in sunny Iraq.

I have attached pictures of a recent mission... the first is me with a patient on a recent mission who fractured his arm and the second is of me and one of the stars from Shrek...it's "Donkey"! He is much smaller in person.

Thanks again, you guys are the bomb!

Hello Give2TheTroops!

I am one of the lucky recipients of a Give2TheTroops care package - and WOW! It was awesome! The time, care and loving support that went into the box was all there when I opened it. I actually got tears in my eyes when I read the letters you enclosed. It is a wonderful feeling to know we have the support of so many good people who are willing to give their time or items to let us know that someone cares.

The fact that they are complete strangers amazes me - my faith in humanity is restored! My sincerest thanks and deepest appreciation - all those goodies were shared with members of my unit (who ever happened to be lucky enough to be in the area when I opened the box). I really liked the personal touch of a hand knitted scarf - a warm feeling - like as if it were sent from a Grandma who has adopted me!

Here are some photos of my unit 372nd Cargo Transfer in Iraq. We are part of a sling load operation to transfer cargo and keep convoys to a minimum! Our unit is the first ever to do this here!

Thanks again!

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS,

We would like to take this time to tell you thanks for all the packages and kind words of encouragement you have been sending our way since we deployed here. Your efforts are greatly appreciated by us all, and we hope that you will continue to support us.

The PLAYSTATION2 system and games you sent us arrived last night. Thanks so much, the guys were brainstorming on where to put it. We finally left it in the break area of the Aid Station where everyone can have access. It was a very nice gift, and we plan on passing it on to the guys who relieve us.

Here is a picture of most of us available at the time, we will try to get everyone together for a Big group shot, and send it your way.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

I've received a care package from you and I don't know what to say but thank you and thank you for supporting us in our campaign against terror. I'm very blessed and my cup overflows. There were more than enough items to keep myself and everyone in here happy and content.

Your organization is very effective and we are proud to serve. This makes our job worthwhile knowing that there are people like you who are appreciative and make an effort to show your appreciation.

Thank you again.

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS,

I can't thank you enough! Your care package came today with the new Xbox system and Xbox games, Playstation2 games and DVD Movies. My Marines and Army guys like the games, which they say are great for training. The DVDs are also outstanding. Every item is being used. Everything works and is excellent. All are appreciated. It is like Christmas. Thank you so much. You are wonderful. You should have seen the look on my troops' faces when your care package was opened by them. I went back to my room and cried! I am not ashamed to admit it.

I can not express in words what it is like to have support from people like you. Thank you so much. I promised my guys and girls that GIVE2THETROOPS has us and will continue to have us in their hearts and will support us throughout the duration of our tour.

As you know, we are stationed in Honduras. I try hard to let the people back home know that they have troops down here in Central America, too. Every day we are out in this country doing our job, fighting the war on terrorism and drug interdiction. I have been in the Air Force for 21 years - stationed in Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, K2, The First Gulf War, and in Kuwait and Iraq four times since the last war.

We don't have bathrooms in our living quarters, but we don't complain. We get to wear jungle BDU's instead of Desert ones.

Sometimes, I write letters to my own troops who don't receive mail or get enough mail from home. You should see these big burly guys' eyes tear up when a letter or package comes from anyone. I try to do what I can for my troops. My wife burns Music CDs at home and mails them to me. I get flags sent from the troops' home states and have it flown over Iraq and Honduras to present to them when they leave. I write the parents of troops who have died and tell them how wonderful their son or daughter was.

I know the items the troops really love are entertainment items like DVD movies, music, games like PS2 or Xbox and even PC games. Of course, we all love snacks, (No Chocolate, it melts before it gets here), and we need stamps to write home. Socks are good too.

Thank you for not forgetting about us down here in the Americas. We continue to fight terrorism every day. Thank you so much for your support of our troops worldwide.

You make what we have to do a lot easier - you're the best of the best!

Thanks again.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

It is much easier to do this job with the support of fine Americans like yourselves and I would like to thank your organization for what you all do.  It is people like yourselves who me proud to be an American solider representing our country. This is my second tour over here. I am an Army Reservist but I feel like I am full time. I don't mind because of the fine people like yourselves that offer support to my buddies and me.

You may not realize it, but "mail call" can really motivate a solider. When he or she holds that letter in their hands and realize someone back home is thinking of them, they are willing to go out and do anything needed to win this war. So I hope you realize how important you are in this fight. You are on the frontlines with us and we salute you.

I received your care package yesterday and it was not too damaged! I've still got about a month or so left out here, but the package was much appreciated by my entire shop. Everyone is definitely ready to get out of here. I get to see my mom for five hours on a layover in the airport so I am excited for that I haven't seen her since last August.

I know a lot of people who have received care packages from your organization and they are definitely appreciated by all of us. It really brings up morale when we get care packages from the states. It lets us know people are still caring about us back home.

Here are two photos of me.

My Platoon Leader, 1LT Thomas Hicks, shared your package with all of us. Thank you for offering to send us more care packages. Anything your group wishes to send is fine by me and the guys. Some suggestions are snack crackers, nuts, store bought cookies, toiletry items, etc.

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS (Connecticut Branch),

Thank you so much for the huge care package you sent. I was completely taken aback by the generosity your organization showed to a complete stranger. Not only did I receive the package you sent but two others in my unit received packages as well. The contribution you felt you had to make from the states for those of us here in theater is an enormous blessing.

As a military man I am used to the cliché comment non-military people make to my wife as to how proud she must be of my service. The reality is I should be equally proud of her for dealing with the military lifestyle I have chosen for both of us. Andi, in your case, I am sure your husband is very proud of you for the way you open your heart to love and touch so many lives of servicemen and women away from home. You and the volunteers and donors who help you with this huge task have very big hearts rivaled only by the great smiles on your faces.

My job here is to provide contractual oversight and inspection of extensive engineering projects being constructed by local contractors. I am presently working a road construction project to provide a secure access road to the base, and to improve old dirt roads for heavy trucks to use. It is really amazing how much we are building over here. Within the next few years this base will rival any state side base for facilities and infrastructure. By the end of this year many of the permanent facilities will be complete. With that the Soldiers, Airmen and Marines here will be moving into secure concrete buildings instead of modular (mobile home like) buildings. The sense of accomplishment I get from seeing this construction come together should be shared with all who have contributed to "Give2theTroops.org" because without the support of the people back home this effort would not be as fruitful.

I must confess, with the advancements that are being made at this base I felt guilty receiving the package you sent. Don't get me wrong; I appreciated it very much and shared it with those here whom I work with. We now have a decent size exchange in the living compound and just got a mini-exchange on the operations side. Both are in tents but it is still more than many of the other servicemen have where they are. The sun block and lip-balm was very much appreciated. With this being the major transitional hub for those going to Iraq that type of stuff flies off the shelves very fast.

The Girl Scout Cookies disappeared within a day of getting here - everybody here loves those! Be sure to thank the Girl Scout troops who donated them. I shared the cookies with the security escorts on my construction project, and a few of the main security force personnel on the gates near my construction site. The smiles that brought to their faces was very rewarding to me, and all I did was pass on something that was given to me. Hopefully that is rewarding to you too.

Here are 3 pictures: The first is of me putting "Cammo-netting" between the two offices - trying to get some shade from the sun, the 2nd photo is at the road construction site, working in a dust storm (hence the scarf and goggles) and the 3rd photo is of me playing "Amazing Grace" on my bagpipes at a Memorial Service for an Air Force Fire-Fighter who was killed in Iraq.

I would like to become a contributor/helper to Give2TheTroops when I get back. I live in Florida and I'll be home in a month or so. Please let me know what I can do to get involved and be part of Give2TheTroops.

Thank you again for all you have done, still do, and will continue to do in support of all the troops. With love to you, your families and the great organization, Give2TheTroops, that you have.

A blessing to you from the words of Jesus, Matthew Chapter 5: (8) Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. (9) Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (10) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. You are pure in heart with a desire to give, the servicemen here are the peacemakers - hopefully soon that peace will come, the persecuted are those serving in harms way to make the world a better and safer place. You will be blessed!

Sincerely,

Dear Give2TheTroops,

I want to thank you for the 4 care packages filled with gifts including the new Playstation 2 system and PS2 games, the books, the DVDS, and all the other great items. They arrived yesterday and we had a great time seeing everything in the boxes. The guys are very pleased and surprised at what was in the 4 boxes. They are enjoying their games against one another. Thank you for helping us with our MWR tent needs. The guys are very thankful and I'm glad we found your organization.

Our unit has been on CNN and have been videoed by Geraldo as we have to this day found the biggest cache of weapons and explosives in theater. We are a proud unit and we just received the 1st Cav combat patch along with the 3rd ID combat patch, we are scheduled to receive our own badge, awaiting approval by the higher authority, due to the fact we are engineers and not infantry.

I want you to know we are good at our jobs and every time we go out we say a prayer. Someone new leads us in prayer every time. These soldiers who do these jobs are okay with what they do, thanks to your support.

Our unit thanks you for everything you have done for them. Most don't have the time to say it themselves, so they have given me this fantastic responsibility to thank you on their behalf. Your organization has helped make things easier and fun again for us. I see it when I watch them the guys get ready for a mission and they are playing music and laughing and acting crazy. None of them are thinking about the dangers that they may face when they leave the wire, but they are going to live it up while they are here.

We thank you for supporting us and not allowing us to be forgotten. Some people ask me how I feel about the war on terror. All I tell them is that when I was growing up, I was able to play just about anywhere: the park, the front yard, at the neighbor's house, etc. I know one thing - I want my kids to be able to do the same thing without being scared or running home because they heard a gun shot. I want them to be safe and this is why I am here. I will only speak about myself on the subject. I don't ask the men why they are here. They are too busy laughing and listening to the music. I know in the back of their minds they have their own reason, my reason is my children.

I have one last minute request......can you pack my WIFE in a box and send her? Please know we appreciate everything you're doing for us. Your volunteers are one of the reasons we are here. People like you deserve to be protected from anything bad in life. Please keep up the good work.

Dear GIVE2THETROOPS,

I wanted to thank you for the extremely large care package that you sent my unit and me. It is not every day that someone sends stuff to people that they don't even know. Words cannot express what your package does for the morale of my guys and me.

After coming back from a 30 hour patrol, returning from visiting one of our wounded in the Medical unit, or after losing one of our own fellow troops, it means the world to us that a large group of people back home is thinking about us, praying for us, and taking time out of their schedule and money out of their pockets to say 'thank you' to us.

So it's my turn to say thank you. The past 2 days have been a very good couple of days.... yesterday morning we did a raid at 4 am and we caught 13 guys who were in the middle of putting together IED's (improvised explosive devices) and VBIED's (Vehicle Born IED's) and brought them in. Today we found 2 more IED's on the side of the road and had to dispose of them and then later we found a weapons stash, with everything from AK-47's to RPK's (machine guns) to RPG's (old school bazooka rocket) to mortar rounds, so it was a good day today as well.

Again, thank your organization so much....

Dear Give2TheTroops,

We just received the care package with the Playstation 2 system that you sent out! I just wanted to say thank you very much! I'm in the process of passing out all the goodies that you sent. The cards from the kids were great. I'm going to try to put them up on the walls of our post office.

We all really appreciate your work.

Thank you very much!

Dear Give2thetroops,

Thank you so very much for our large care package! The guys who have the XBOX systems loved the new XBOX games you sent. They couldn't believe that the games were sent from a care package. They were like, "We don't have to pay for these? Someone just sent them to us????"

The soldier who needed the CD player was also equally surprised that his wish was granted by you. I ended up giving most of the stuff to the people in my unit, but the Rice Krispie treats you sent are MINE!! I also got down with some of the CD's but they just went into the rotation of music we play here at the Post Office. And I have to tell you, the calendars of girls with guns from G. Gordon Liddy, are great!

Thank you so much for the package, we really appreciate everything you do. We could still use some gloves for softball, softballs, a few bats, more sunglasses, and a Playstation system or two with some games especially sports-- just no war games. We have enough of that going on around us.

Again, thank you so much. Your package brightened everyone's day in my unit. Thanks again.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Hi!

We received your packaged yesterday. Thank you for the goodies and for the Easter Eggs that the children collected. Please thank them for me and let them know that we appreciated very much.

Just to let you know a little about us, we are in Kuwait, which you might already know, we are doing well. It is not bad here at all. I just wanted you to know that we appreciate that you send packages, since our families are sometimes very busy in the real world, which we understand, and they get caught up and not that they forget about us, but they are just busy.

It is nice of you to remember us. Thank You so much.

Dear Give2theTroops,

Thank you so much for sending the Easter eggs with candy! I am stationed in Qatar at CENTCOM Headquarters Public Affairs. It's really nice that the kids in school thought of us. It makes me think of how I once too had the uncluttered and stress free mind of a small child. I guess that's why I like children because they just seem so happy most of the time.

I guess we have reasons to be unhappy here being away from our families and friends but when we hear from people like you our attitude changes dramatically. We hear of widespread anti-war rhetoric sweeping the Nation. Then we hear from concerned patriots like you and our pride in America and its people grows!

I want to thank you all for your selfless contributions to persons unknown to you. In your heart you really care about the fighting men and women in this war. This means more to us than you can ever know. This makes us feel proud and strong. Please let those kids that put the eggs together know the soldiers in this combat theater thank them and love them and we'll be home soon.

Thank you.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

I wanted to write you back and say thank you very, very much for the care package we received today. We greatly appreciate all your organization has done. My unit is an unusually young group. The average age of personnel here is 24 years old. Of course, many are single college students and a few are right out of high school! Therefore, many don't receive a lot of mail and some haven't received any mail at all.

When I received your care package, I read your letter to the group and allowed them to take what they needed or wanted. You can't believe their excitement. It was like opening presents at Christmas. I am very grateful because it truly helped raise the group's spirits.

I wanted to send a HUGE Thank you for sending us all the "Goodies", letters and Valentine cards. The troops here absolutely loved it. We cannot thank you enough for what you are doing back home for us here. Please pass on to everyone involved just how much we appreciate it. We cannot do the things here without the support of our friends, family and the great American people.

I personally want to say "Thank you" for helping me keep the spirit of my troops up!! I am their First Sergeant and it takes everything I have and more to keep them running..I cannot do it without organizations like yours. We love all you folks for helping us out.

I included a picture of our squadron here at Camp Sather (now known as Sather AB). It was taken a week and half after our arrival.the picture when we leave should look much HAPPIER!!!

Dear Give2TheTroops,

What a wonderful surprise to receive a package from Give2TheTroops, Inc. today. I was blown away by your generosity and kindness. On behalf of A Company 411th CA BN, I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to you and all who take the time to make a difference in the lives of deployed military personnel. As you well know, this place can sour the best of spirits, however, its acts such as yours which bring a smile to all of us.

I knew of your efforts and organization before I left, however, timing being what it was I never signed up before I left for Iraq.

I am sending a few pictures of some of our soldiers, and me with some Iraqis. Time is flying fast here and I hope to be home in July.

Thank you again.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was so excited when I opened up my care packages and saw that nearly everything I requested was there! I shared the items with the other soldiers, too. I gave one of the CD players to one guy in my platoon who didn't have one. The feminine things were shared as well.

I needed a dark towel and all the other things you sent us, like the sheets and pillow cases! It was so wonderful and so greatly appreciated. I don't know how to thank your organization! It was a wonderful day! Please tell everyone how much I appreciated the packages!

I'm doing okay. I have been really busy with work and have very little free time, if any at all. I miss my children, but I talk to them about twice a week. I have another 10 months to go in my deployment so I take things one day at a time.

I really really loved the packages you sent to me! And the STATIONERY that I'm writing on! THANK YOU!

Again, thank you so much for your kindness and support. God Bless you all! Take care. Hope to hear from you soon. Letters are always great!

I would like to personally say thank you for the care package our unit received addressed to MSgt Donald Cloutier. The items in it will go far to ease the hardship our troops are facing being separated from family and conveniences. Dear Give2TheTroops,

First, I would like to thank you for the goodies you sent. I shared the electronic games with my buddies at work and the soccer ball you sent is used on Thursdays for physical fitness training (PT). But the coffee maker that you sent - oooooohhhhhh! I can't thank you enough!

We are so impressed that you want to do something of this magnitude for all the troops who are deployed. A lot of people do things to help out, but many are caught up in their daily lives. I can assure you that all your hard work and dedication to this organization is greatly appreciated by folks like me and my platoon.

I have shared the other goodies you sent in the care package with members of my company. I gave the pillow to a soldier who didn't have one and I shared the TETRIS games with members of my platoon. I kept the coffee maker for myself, as I was the one who really needed it.

Thank you very, very much for all you do for us and for the care package.

I received the package you sent two days ago. This is the first chance to let you know. Thanks for the goodies. The movies you sent were a big hit! Everything will be used. Everyone said to tell you thanks. I am extremely busy because the Commander is on R&R leave and I am the only Warrant Officer here right now so I am doing everything.

I am also a Federal Agent for the Department of Defense on my civilian job. I am a Warrant Officer and I am fifth from the left kneeling in the picture and right behind our green Guide On (flag).

Dear Give2theTroops,

Hello! I received your care package yesterday. Thank you very much. Everyone enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed getting the letters and cards from the kids; I plan on responding to all of them. It was very nice to get items with a 'personal touch'; cards, letters and the writing on the Ziploc bags, etc. In fact, I'm listening to music that you sent right now.

I'm 35 years old and from Ohio. My civilian career is in public safety / law enforcement. I also do security management in the night club industry. I did 12 years in the Army, and Reserve components, before I transferred to the Air Force Reserves three years ago. My prior Army career fields were: Forward Observer Scout, Armor Cavalry and Military Police. My current Air Force career fields are: Aircraft Rescue Firefighter (Primary) and Security Police Forces (Secondary). This is the second Gulf War for me; 1991 and current. Some of my previous Army units from Germany, Ft. Stewart and Ft. Hood deploy quite often.

I have lost three friends in this war thus far. So, when I hear that any of them are sending deployment teams to the AOR, I get a hold of my friends immediately. All I can do is pray for their safe return.

In our current location, we are not facing the enemy quite like our fellow servicemen and women are in Iraq. We've got it good compared to some of them. I think about this often and wish them the very best.

Once again, I want to thank you for your kind words, your prayers, your generosity and your caring nature. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Take care and keep up the good work!!!

Dear Give2theTroops,

I received your packages today! I cannot thank you enough for your support. It amazes me that there are so many people willing to support the sacrifices my soldiers are making. As my soldiers would say, "You rock!!!" I am going to send the items to my teams that have asked for specific items. The games are prefect; they do not have much located on their Forward Operating Base to help them relax. They work very hard and will do whatever it takes to accomplish the mission. This often requires long hours. Your organization is wonderful. I appreciate your sincere thoughtfulness. As I was opening the boxes, I couldn't help but smile....it's been awhile since I have done that. I will NEVER be able to thank you enough for supporting the soldiers that I have under my command. I looked through and completely smiled. Thank you so much for your support of our unit.

Your support makes the deployment of my soldiers more bearable. For many of my soldiers this is their third deployment. My soldiers served bravely in Afghanistan. On the plane headed home they were informed that they would have 25 days on the ground before they would head to Iraq for the kick-off of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After the 8 months in Afghanistan, my soldiers spent over a year in Iraq. Upon their return from Iraq they have had an 8 month break (much better then the previous 25 days) and are now serving overseas for another year, possibly 18 months.

I wish I could be there when my soldiers receive the packages. However, right now I am too busy to make the convoy that will deliver the packages to my soldiers. They truly appreciate your efforts. There is not a lot for them to look forward to. Mail is the one thing that I have found that EVERYBODY loves.

It's been a rough for me for the past few days. Please pray for me. I really need God to over watch and carry me through my immediate situation. I know that He has a plan and that it is perfect, but sometimes when things are so important it is very hard to Let GO and Let GOD. Some things are just very hard to accept. Please pray for my peace of mind and soul, and for me to always do the right thing.

Your packages were absolutely perfect. Thanks again for your efforts and for the smile.

Dear Give2theTroops,
I want to thank you for all the Bibles and Christian literature, the CD's, Food, Tooth Paste, Mouth Wash, Games... and on and on........... Oh Yea, thanks for the mouse traps.

It is more that I imagined! The guys acted like it was Christmas. They were very grateful. WOW - you weren't kidding when you said you were going to send a lot. I also read all the kid's letters. They were real touching. Some were pretty funny too.  I want to write them back, but I think I will try to write back to one class and hopefully, you can post this note to cover all the wonderful children and classes that wrote us. I would like to thank the children for the Valentines Day cards, too.

You may or may not have a clue as to what this does for our morale but it is a real boost.

If you have more CD's we can definitely use them.

Again God Bless you guys for all you do!

Thank you so much for the time and effort that your organization did to put my Care Package together. When I received the box, it was like Christmas all over again, not just for me, but for everyone in my office and outside my office.

We are so very thankful for you and everyone at home who supports us. Thank you so much for your support and bringing us a piece of home to our lives. I am so grateful that I have people who support me back at home.

Yours,

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Wow! What an awesome care package! Everybody gathers around me when I receive a box. They all get something, so the smiles are all around. Thank you for sending us the Playstation2 games we requested. We did have a Playstation2 system, but it is now retired because of use and dust and when one of my fellow troops accidentally fell on it when we got attacked last month.

When we saw the Playstation2 games you sent us, we were happy but disappointed that we didn't have a system to play them on.

We are so grateful that GIVE2THETROOPS is now sending us a Playstation2 system. Right now, we are playing with the handheld games you sent us.

Let me tell you that your care package has been the best box we have received yet! We have been thinking of putting out a calendar and here is a photo of me for one of the months. Just something to make your volunteers smile and let them know what they are doing is awesome.

Thank you all so much, GIVE2THETROOPS!

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Thanks for the package! The guys here in my section just about knocked me over looking at all the great things you guys put in it for us. I really appreciate the kindness and hard work your organization is putting into help us so far away.

Everything you sent will come to great use. Again thanks for everything, and God bless. I've attached a picture of the guys I work with for your website. I'm the one under the "2". Stay safe, and keep up the great work putting smiles on soldier faces.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Just a quick note to say thank you for all of your staff's hard work. Sometimes it is hard to understand the pressures and hardships this war has come with. Your organization has made these months more bearable for us.

God bless you and your staff and keep up the good work.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

First of all, I really cannot express how shocked I was to receive such a nice care package. Your organization is incredibly generous and I thank you for everything that you contribute. I can honestly say that receiving the package the other day was even better than Christmas this year. To think that there are so many people out there who really do care, even about someone they do not know is very encouraging. I am 19 years old and this is my second deployment in my career. I have only spent one month in the States since last February.

Trust me when I say anything from home is a reason to rejoice. I really do appreciate your prayers and all the encouragement that you are administering to our sailors and troops. I distributed many of the products that you sent to other members of our squadron and they were all very thankful. I have enclosed some photos with this letter of our sailors with the box you sent. I hope these photos will be an encouragement to you to continue your awesome cause. I also have asked some of my squadron members to sign this letter (see below) Once again, thank you so much and God Bless.

Sincerely,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for what your great organization has done for us. It makes us feel much better to know that there are people like you supporting us, while we perform our virtual mission.

We are a National Guard unit based out of New Jersey. Our unit is a Combat Signal Company, providing communication for the 116th Brigade Combat Team from Idaho.

Altogether, the 116th is comprised of National Guardsmen and women from 12 states. We arrived here after undergoing seven months of vigorous training. We are extremely proud that we are an all National Guard force, here to relieve our Active Duty comrades so that they are able to return to their loved ones. They have been in Iraq for a year. This is an important mission for us; especially our unit coming from New Jersey.

Most of us have been away from our jobs and families for the past three years, supporting Homeland Security missions in both New York City and the surrounding bridges, tunnels, airports, marine ports and nuclear power stations.

Our unit was mobilized to assist New York City directly after September 11, 2001.
Prior to heading to our positions, we filed single file through the area restricted to family members who were posting pictures and mementos of their loved ones. It was an emotional moment as they walked up to us to thank us for our service. I carry that memory with me today, here in Iraq. Our Brigade is here to put an end to insurgents and work to provide a better life for the Iraqi people, so as not to have an excuse to breed future terrorists. That is our hope.

My job here is installing and maintaining a large communications network across Northern Iraq that provides a multitude of forward bases the ability to conduct their critical operations. I also travel by armored convoy to these sites, where I assist our communications men and women when needed. I have a good career in the National Guard, helping our citizens through national natural disasters.

I am married, the father of three grown daughters, 19, 21 and 26, and have a 5-year-old granddaughter. They are proud of me as I am of them. I intend to perform my mission honorably, representing my community, my country and the great people such as yourselves.

Thank you for your service to me and our great country.

God Bless you,

I would like to thank you so very much for the generous and much needed items you sent us! It's people like you, family, friends and members of your organization that makes each day away from home better. May God continue to bless all of you who continue to support me and the troops.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

I wanted to drop you a letter in and say thank you for your letters and for sending all the items to us soldiers here in Iraq. I spread your gifts throughout my section and allowed all my soldiers to have some. You should have seen their faces you would have thought that they were celebrating Christmas all over again!

To let you know a little about us I am the NCOIC of a personnel section for the Logistic Task Force 129th. We support over 2000 soldiers under this task force - the largest in Iraq.  We work hard but we also have a good time at work. Once again I would like to thank you for all your support. And keep us in your prayers.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

I received your 4 care packages and thank you so very much. The first chance we get we will set the XBOX system and play. I had no idea that you were going to send so much! Thank you so very much. The guys loved the coffee, travel mugs and thermoses. Once again, you really outdid yourselves.

Thank you for sending me the TANG I requested. I have enough TANG now to last a long time! And how did you know that I was a SlimJim fan?

Thank you again for all of the love and support.

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Thank you for the two care packages that you sent me. Everybody loves the portable Tetris games and I have been playing the MVP Baseball 2004 game a lot on the Xbox my parents sent me when I have time. It's been crazy around here.

Guess what? We are leaving in 28 days!! Thank God I didn't get extended.

Thanks a lot for everything and all your support,

Dear Give2TheTroops,

We received both care packages you sent us. Please know my soldiers are very grateful. We appreciate all the effort, thoughts and concerns.

How is everything in CT? I have heard winter is hitting hard. Here it is cold and rains every couple of days, turning everything to mud. So much for the desert always being dry. Otherwise life goes on. We are slowly but surely rebuilding this country. It is nowhere as bad as the news makes it seem. Security is always a primary concern. The vast majority of Iraqi's just want to get the country going again.

Thank you again,

Dear Give2TheTroops,

Thank you for the care package. It was very uplifting. The letters enclosed were great. I am just beginning to get used to being here and have lots of work to keep me busy. We are in a remote location with limited access.

I am a wife and a mother of four children. My husband, Chris, who is an excellent father, is taking care of them while I am away. I miss them very much.

Thank you so much for what you and your supporters do for the soldiers. I never knew how many U.S. citizens supported us until I arrived here. The media just doesn't give the U.S. enough credit.

God Bless,
