Message from a Mom ...


 Sept. 23, 2006

My son, Paul Barentine, is back home from Iraq. I just wanted to thank you for all the support he got from Give2TheTroops while he was there.

His time over there was made so
much easier by your organization.
I hate to call it an organization because it was so much more.

Don't ever doubt the impact you
make with all the hard work you do... Thank you...

Our Deepest Sympathy


The North Carolina Branch of Give2TheTroops is sad to announce the death of one of its most devoted volunteers, Samuel F. Gerber, Jr.

Sam was owner of Parker-Kennybrook Books in Greenville NC. He provided donations of hundreds of books to our troops, and often chose, packed and shipped "mini" libraries for the troops to have a variety of reading materials. He volunteered nearly every day the NC Branch was open, and wrote many letters to the troops. He enjoyed the letters from the troops and also delighted in reading the wonderful messages of encouragement and support from Americans participating in the Xerox/G2TT "Let's Say Thanks" Campaign.

Our deployed troops, volunteers and community will remember and honor Sam each time they write a letter, read a book, or participate in a book discussion.

Memorials in Sam's honor may be made to the NC Branch of Give2TheTroops: 3109 Landmark St, Greenville NC 27834.
