USPS and MILITARY RESTRICTED/BANNED ITEMS


 

As per the USPS' Aviation Mail Security and Hazardous Materials Programs, the following items listed below are prohibited.
 
 

       



The Postal Service’s definition of a hazardous material includes many common household and consumer products. These items may not be hazardous during normal use or storage in your home but can present a significant hazard when placed in the mail due to vibration, temperature changes, and variations in atmospheric pressure.

Some examples of commonly-used items restricted or considered hazardous under USPS regulations include:
 
  

Perfumes
 Nail polish 
 Aerosols and other pressurized products
 Bleach
 Pool chemicals
 Paints
 Matches
 Fuels or gasoline
 Airbags
 Dry ice
 Mercury thermometers
 Cleaning supplies
 Items previously containing fuel
 Fireworks

 


Prohibited items to send a U.S. military troop in the Middle East are scanned. These items WILL be confiscated:

 



Alcohol and alcohol-production products and ingredients 
Fruits, live plants and animals
Prescribed drugs
Pork and pork by-products 
Pornographic and sexual materials (including nudes and semi-nudes)
Obscene materials and horror comics 
Non-authorized political materials 
Religious materials contrary to Islam in bulk quantities  (G2TT does not send bulk quantities of any religious material) 
Firearms and ammunition (including knives & weapons)
Cash, coins, securities or precious metals in their raw state

Hazardous, flammable, toxic and radioactive substances



         






Please use care when sending items. Packages can be subjected to high heat and bouncing around. Use Ziploc bags and lots of padding where applicable.





Batteries in summer; Liquids or solids in glass containers; Perishable food products that can spoil; Electronic devices with batteries installed
